Meet Dr. Mark Barr

AdorbsDr. Barr has been practicing endodontics in Atlanta since 1995. His endodontic practice is a full time fee-for service practice that specializes in both non-surgical (conventional) and surgical procedures. Our primary purpose is alleviating human pain and suffering through the treatment of diseased teeth. This primarily concerns the performance of root canal therapy. Through the proper use of anesthetic techniques and contemporary methods the outcomes are very predictable, and can be completed in a comfortable manner.

At times a tooth should not be saved due to a questionable future. We are equally schooled in the removal of teeth, socket preservation, grafting, and the placement of dental implants. Your general dentist will be involved in the treatment planning of such therapies so that you receive complete care. If there is considerable worry, then oral sedation is available. This needs to be discussed and organized before your dental treatments; but by and large, don’t worry about it!

Dr. Barr is involved with multiple study groups, both local and national which continues the ongoing spread of information and learning from high level peers. The amount of continuing education hours per year is typically near 100 or so.

The basics about Dr. Barr:

After graduating from Case Western Reserve University Dental School in 1986, Dr. Barr practiced dentistry for three years, and spent three years in the U.S. Navy where he obtained extensive training in dental surgery with an emphasis in root canal therapy. Military dentistry follows the highest standards in the field, where the attitude is to “do it right the first time because there will be less time to do it later.” After Dr. Barr’s service and training he entered graduate school and  earned his Endodontic Certificate at Baylor College of Dentistry in 1994.

His implant training combines multiple didactic and clinical experiences since 2011 such as the Dr. Pikos seminar series, Pikos and Salama symposiums, and many other multi-day conferences including Hiossen’s Basic, Intermediate, Advanced seminars and Lateral wall and Intracrestal Sinus courses. He has attended 17 separate courses with Live Implant Training since 2011.

He currently is enrolled in a year long training program, “The Maxi Course” at the dental school in Augusta, Georgia.

Since 2004, Dr. Barr serves with Virgil Mongalo, D.D.S. as a clinical surgical instructor in Dr. Mongalo’s program known as  Live Implant Training
